More details are awaited.
A source claimed that another man nabbed from Kolkata’s Bidhannagar area in connection with the threat call case and he is being interrogated now, while the police officials denied the authenticity of the information.
The call was made twice to city police headquarters threatening to blast the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose airport.
Thorough security checks are being carried out at the airport, both at the cargo and the passenger terminal.
“The call was made from 3615188371”. However, the caller did not name anyone in his call.
“After examining the tower locations of the threat callers, we have come to know that three calls came from somewhere in Kolkata, Dankuni and Guwahati”, a senior police official told IBNS. However, these kinds of threat calls are a regular feature, he added.
The security of the Howrah station was on Tuesday, alerted after an unclaimed steel tiffin box was found lying on the station’s platform number 20. Following the discovery, the platforms 20,21 and 22 were cordoned off and all passengers were instructed to leave the platforms.

Immediately after the first two calls, the bomb squad, sniffer dogs along with a CISF team, were pressed into action and the entire airport was thoroughly screened during the night, a senior police officer said.
