There were reports that suggested that the Mumbai police have downgraded security arrangements for film actors.
Mumbai, Jan. 8 (ANI): The Mumbai Police has downgraded the security of round 40 Bollywood celebrities after an annual evaluation of menace notion.
“We were providing security to around 40 Bollywood celebrities”. After the assessment review, two armed constables will accompany the actors in two shifts.
The stars were provided with such a high degree security because their comments on “India’s growing intolerance” received negative remarks from the public and other political parties.
“An audit was recently conducted and security of over 20 personalities have been either nixed or trimmed”, another police source said.
The two had been provided 24×7 security after controversies following their increased threat perceptions to their lives, an official has revealed. However, the police will continue to provide round-the-clock security for Akshay Kumar, Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar, The Indian Express has reported.

Security has been fully withdrawn from filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, director Rajkumar Hirani, director Farah Khan and producer siblings Ali and Karim Morani.
