The actor yesterday said in the statement that “anyone implying the opposite has either not seen my interview or is deliberately trying to distort what I have said”. For the first time, she said, should we move out of India?

Later, talking to reporters, Mr Khan said, “If Aamir Khan’s wife, who is a Hindu, fears for the future of her children in the country, what about those who do not have anyone for support?” Only if each of us behaved and acted responsibly, peace would prevail without having to live in fear!

Besides several criticisms, a sedition case has been filed in a Kanpur court against the actor for his comment on the growing “intolerance” in the country. “We’re all ultra-civilized people and we should show the world that we are the best civilization”, the composer was quoted as saying by Indian media.
