See the trailer for Chris Tucker’s first-ever stand-up special

The special was the first production ever handled by Tucker’s own company, Chris Tucker Entertainment.

Tucker is set to release his first comedy special, “Chris Tucker Live“, on streaming service Netflix on Friday, but the stand-up show has been marred by a lawsuit from comedian Terry Hodges, who alleges he has not been paid by Tucker since 2011.

Again, Chris Tucker Live will be released on Netflix on July 10, likely, at 12:01 a.m. So while it feels a little weird that this is Tucker’s first stand-up special, it makes sense with regards to the rest of his career.

We won’t have to wait much longer to see what Tucker has up his sleeve, but for now, check out the teaser clip above and the promo art below.

Tucker’s roots are in stand-up comedy.

Tucker delivers some more of his Michael Jackson antics that popped up occasionally in the Rush Hour franchise. According to the report, Tucker was doing stand up way, way, way before he was starring in movies alongside Jackie Chan. The special, filmed at the Fox Theatre in Tucker’s (and Paste’s) hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, will stream exclusively on Netflix beginning this week. “It’s always been a part of me, and now I’m excited to share it with my fans around the world”.
