Paul also touches on why the band made a decision to stop touring, pointing out, “We all started to get pretty fed up…” For even the most hardcore fans of the Fab Four, this looks like it will have something new to learn.

A new trailer was released this week as well, showing how much the band struggled with its own insane global popularity that might even make Justin Bieber feel uncomfortable. The amusing thing, then, about those low stakes is that this film’s promise of high-definition, never-before-seen footage is good enough, because if you don’t have expectations or, for that matter, great excitement, just about anything worthwhile can sweeten the deal. There simply isn’t a way to take what they did for music lightly, and it seems like that’s exactly what this documentary is attempting to put on full display. In 1965, however, the thought of a 55,000-strong crowd was unheard of before the Beatles performed at New York’s (now demolished) Shea Stadium.

The Ron Howard-directed documentary, which will be released in cinemas on September 15, will piece together archive footage and interviews of the band from this particular time period, along with brand new interviews from The Beatles’ surviving members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.

The film, which hits theaters on September 15 and becomes available for streaming to Hulu subscribers on September 17, begins with the band’s days playing Liverpool’s Cavern Club and ends with their final concert, at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park.
