Seed Sara Errani advances to 2nd round at Gastein Ladies

Kasatkina next plays top-seeded Sara Errani, who saved a match point and won the last five games to beat Ukrainian qualifier Maryna Zanevska 6-2, 4-6, 7-5.

German tennis player Anna-Lena Friedsam was carried off the court on a stretcher after spraining her ankle while leading Klara Koukalova of Czech Republic 6-1, 4-0 in the first round of the Gastein Ladies on Monday. “When it is sunny like this, it’s an unbelievable place”.

“It’s never easy to play here”, Errani told WTATennis.com. “I feel very comfortable, now I want to win the next match”.

Sam Stosur has reached the quarterfinals of the 2015 Nurnberger GasteinLadies.

The Brazilian meets 18-year-old Alexander Zverev of Germany, who ousted fourth-seeded Juan Monaco of Argentina 6-4, 6-2, in an 80-minute game to reach his second World Tour quarterfinal.

The final second-round match between the third-seeded Karin Knapp of Italy and Johanna Larsson of Sweden was suspended because of a thunder storm and rescheduled for Friday.
