Seeking a Splash: Klay goes for All-Star 3s upset of Curry
Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry may be the best shooter in the National Basketball Association, but on Saturday night he could not best his teammate and fellow Splash Brother Klay Thompson in the Three-point Contest.

Curry will suit up for the Western Conference team for Sunday’s 65th all-star game, the first time the NBA’s annual festivities have been held outside the United States.
Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry greets school kids…
Klay Thompson believes, even if he knows many don’t. But despite sub-zero temperatures outside the Air Canada Centre, Curry and Thompson – known as the “Splash Brothers” – heated up very quickly. LaVine became the first repeat dunk champion since Nate Robinson, but Curry wasn’t even the best on his own team after setting a final-round record previous year.
“I’m proud of myself”, Thompson said, adding he will give his trophy to his father, who has a collection of awards from his three sons. “I was able to make critics wrong, Vegas wrong, Ricky Rubio wrong”.
“He said ‘Go ahead and go break the record, ‘” Thompson said after taking home the 3-Point Contest title.
Maybe they will come back next year and do it again.
Curry leads the league in scoring, and is on pace to be the first guard to win back-to-back MVP honours since Nash did it in 2005-06.
TORONTO (AP) – Aaron Gordon soared over his mascot, but nobody flies higher than Zach LaVine in the slam dunk contest.
The only boos went to the judges, with the crowd thinking Shaquille O’Neal was a little stingy with a couple of 9s instead of ideal 10s.
“We don’t want to have any records like that broken off us, so it was a contested shot”, Green said, smiling. “That’s fine. I’ll play the underdog for a night”. “This is bigger than me”, the 7-foot Towns said. The final was heated, with Towns and Thomas racing through the obstacles and rushing tree-pointers before Towns drilled one and was mobbed by the other big men. “This is for all the bigs out there, with the game changing the way it is, to show that bigs can stand up with guards, skill-wise”.
So the pressure was on Thompson, and he delivered.

And when asked about how long he would have bragging rights over Curry? Warriors player development consultant Steve Nash told Thompson that his textbook shooting form affords him time to work on other parts of his game. “I think getting to Asia during an All-Star break would be that much more hard than getting to Europe”, Silver said.
