People reports Gomez will make an appearance on the show while supporting her latest album “Revival”, which drops October.

It’s been a very busy summer for Selena, who made it clear a few months ago that she’s excited to get back into music. As confirmed on the The Voice’s official Twitter account, Gomez will join artist Gwen Stefani’s team as an advisor.

With lyrics like, “Let me show you how proud I am to be yours / Leave this dress a mess on the floor / And still look good for you, good for you“, her new body of work shows a different side of her. “I’ve been in a transition period with my music, so it is, like [Gwen] said, inspiring”, Selena detailed about her “The Voice” experience. She’ll join Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams in selecting and coaching a group of singers through the competition. Gomez, in an interview, expressed her admiration for Stefani and described her as a smart and creative person.

The Voice returns for its ninth season Monday, September 21 at 8/7c on NBC.

The industry veteran discussed why working with a young icon like Selena has helped her regain a fresh perspective after decades in the business. When asked about her decision to join Team Stefani, Gomez praised the No Doubt front woman for her creativity, among other things.
