Sen. Collins: Not endorsing Trump right away

“Well, I think people are war tired, but I think people want to see if we can prevent a problem from getting out of control and prevent terrorists from getting a safe haven where they can plan attacks against Americans and we see it coming, I think they expect us to do something about it”, said Speaker Ryan.

Despite growing Republican angst over the party’s presumptive nominee and his demeanor on the campaign trail, a fight at the convention to strip him of the nomination is “still not likely”, one of his detractors told reporters Thursday.

In an email to Business Insider after Scavino deleted the tweet, Hope Hicks, Trump’s communications director, said the campaign had “no comment” on Hewitt’s early morning remarks. “He’s what they bend over for”.

Jeremy Johnson, associate professor of political science at Carroll College in Helena, said most Republican lawmakers in Congress take their cues from leadership about whom to support. “Warren held her current beliefs about ensuring votes for all nominees when her party was engaged in serial and unprecedented filibusters against women and minorities during the Bush administration, she kept them to herself”.

“To say that because of someone’s heritage or their ethnicity that they are unable to provide fair judgement is just wrong”.

“Judge Curiel is one of countless American patriots who has spent decades quietly serving his country, sometimes at great risk to his own life”, Warren will say.

For the general election, however, Trump has said he will need support from major party donors and has set up a joint fundraising account with the Republican National Committee to aid in that process.

“I want to make sure he renounces what he says – at least in regards to this judge”, Walker added in reference to Judge Gonzalo Curiel.

“No more insults”, Collins said.

The Shelbyville Republican and member of House Republican leadership also said it’s unclear if Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, can conduct himself with maturity.

“He’s a Mitch McConnell kind of candidate”, she explained.

Collins went on to say that she has not ruled out supporting Clinton.

“When there was a moment of truth, there was a moment when you had two choices, between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, who did the establishment back?”

There have been some Republicans who’ve indicated a preference for Clinton over Trump, but no elected Republican has been this candid about preferring the Democrat in the race.

The Capitol dome is seen on Capitol Hill. Its been like a long-delayed New Years resolution for the GOP. But 2016 will finally be the year congressional Republicans put legislation on President Barack Obamas
