Sen. Corker says he won’t be Trump’s VP

Republicans close to the campaign say Trump and his team are considering announcing his running mate pick next week ahead of the convention, to be held July 18-21 in Cleveland, to try to get maximum media buzz from the decision.

Iowa senator Joni Ernst said Wednesday she wants to stay “focused on Iowa” rather than serve as Donald Trump’s vice presidential running mate, just days after meeting with the presumed Republican nominee.

On Wednesday, Trump is set to campaign with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich in Ohio. “So I don’t think he could go wrong”.

Grassley says Ernst’s military and legislative experience, and her expertise as someone from a rural, agricultural state would be assets to the NY real estate mogul.
