Sen. Dan Coats calls Ted Cruz a ‘self-centered, narcissistic, pathological liar’
Cruz pushed back against audience members who brought the pledge that he and other Republican candidates had made to support the eventual GOP nominee, saying that that promise “was abrogated” when Trump attacked his family.

The two men fought a bitter and at times deeply personal battle for the nomination, in which Trump mocked Cruz’s wife and tarred his rival with a nasty nickname: “Lyin’ Ted”.
“Some will say, I wish I had a different choice”, Duffy said.
Mr Cruz during the prmary campaign called Mr Trump a “pathological liar”.
Interrupted by chants of “Trump, Trump, Trump”, Cruz paused and said with a smile, “I appreciate the enthusiasm of the NY delegation”.
His speech drew boos in the arena. The crowd immediately picked up on Cruz’s implication, and the ugly reaction he got was a direct result of having their dirty laundry aired out where all can see it. Everyone has a theory about what kind of “House of Cards” scheming is behind Cruz’s choice to instruct people to “vote your conscience”, instead of specifically telling them to vote Donald Trump.
The younger Trump tells MSNBC “we talked about it as a potential”, but said nothing came of it and that Kasich never directly discussed it with Donald Trump. “When Donald Trump becomes president of the United States of America, the change will be huge”.
Lobbyists and bundlers have helped Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee, the FEC documents show.
The sense of passionate conflict among Texans Thursday was a microcosm of the friction on the convention floor Wednesday night.
The senator added, “When I spoke to him on the phone, I told him, ‘I am not going to endorse you'”.
Reaction to Cruz was swift.
“He was the only speech in the convention that was poorly received by the body in the hall”, Manafort said of Cruz.
When asked if Cruz will be voting for Trump, he deferred, only noting who he will not be voting for.
And that future apparently doesn’t involve Trump in four years, whether Trump wins or loses in November.
“Sen. Cruz, a strict constitutionalist, chose not to accept the strict terms of the pledge that he signed”, Manafort told reporters.
Led by the NY delegation, seated at the foot of the podium, the cheers quickly turned to jeers and boos, as he encouraged Americans – including, he said, those watching at home – to simply “vote your conscience” in November.
“Ted Cruz said you can vote your conscience for anyone who will uphold the Constitution”, Gingrich said.

The issues began Monday when convention organizers were forced to put down a delegate insurgency aimed at freeing pledged delegates to vote their conscience, a move created to embarrass and possibly depose Trump.
