The endorsement, though perhaps not a game-changer for Bush, who has stumbled in the polls since last fall, is all a part of the campaign’s push to appeal to South Carolinians, particularly military personnel and veterans in the state.

Lindsey Graham will announce Friday he plans to endorse Jeb Bush for president, CNN reports. Another Bush donor said they were told, “Hey, I need you to throw away money on Jeb-out of loyalty”.

As South Carolina’s senior senator, Graham has been a coveted endorsement for some candidates running for the Republican nomination because he holds clout among establishment Republicans in South Carolina, one of the critical early voting primary states.

Graham’s announcement leaves two other top S.C. Republicans, U.S. Sen.

Meanwhile during the town hall, Bush tried to win over voters by separating himself from the front-runner, Donald trump.

Haley has said she could endorse a White House hopeful before South Carolina’s February 20 Republican presidential primary.

One Bush adviser in SC, who asked for anonymity to speak frankly about campaign strategy, said that the influx of Graham support in recent weeks has been a “huge help” across the Palmetto State.

Since he dropped out last month, Graham’s endorsement has been sought by a number of candidates.
