Sen. Ted Cruz And Donald Trump Slam Each Other

Cruz has consistently avoided attacking or questioning Trump.

If Cruz predicts that the series will be tied as he and Trump clear the field, SC is being envisioned as the rubber match, the moment when Republicans are forced to decide between two self-stylized conservatives who have deep – but not dominant – appeal.

“Being angry about the direction of our country by itself will not be enough”, Rubio said, referencing the conservative anger fueling Trump and Cruz’ candidacies. He then added that America does not need someone that would continually update his social media page to respond to the “latest polls”.

Cruz used eminent domain to portray the billionaire as a land grabber saying, “Donald Trump has said he thinks eminent domain is fantastic, and he supports using government power to seize private people’s homes, to give them to giant corporations to, say, hypothetically build a casino”.

Any pretense at civility vaporized during last Thursday night’s sixth GOP presidential debate, when Cruz berated Trump for raising the “birther issue” only after he had begun to slip in the polls.

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz and businessman Donald Trump are locked in a tight battle in the Hawkeye State.

Trump was in the Super Tuesday state of Virginia on Monday. Sunday on ABC’s This Week, Trump unloaded on Cruz, saying, “He’s a nasty guy”.

So how do you from being a good guy to a nasty guy in Donald Trump’s book?

It took Ted Cruz approximately one question here to get asked about the man nearly certain to overshadow every move this week in New Hampshire.

Here in Dixie, whatever Alabamians think of NY values, they surely will not deny that they have benefitted from them in recent years.

He continued, “I think the American people want a steady hand at the helm”. Cruz seems to remain quite popular with Trump’s base of support and if his fans start drifting away or getting turned off it wouldn’t be shocking if such a turn of events resulted in a direct benefit for Ted Cruz.

“He’s a very – he’s got an edge that’s not good”.

Cruz had taken his shot against Tump’s “New York values” during last week’s debate and missed, incurring successful return fire in the form of a reference by Trump to New Yorkers’ heroism on September 11, 2001.

And even when Trump tried to regain control by making hay of an admitted mistake Cruz made when he didn’t disclose certain campaign loans, Cruz’s team breathed a sigh of relief as Trump was loudly booed by a Myrtle Beach crowd – after which he quickly exited the stage.

Cruz, a Texan, said, “Most people know exactly what NY values are…”

Now, after a few days of soul searching and passive-aggressive sniping, the Trump-Cruz bromance is officially over.

He also told the Christian Broadcast Network that he would do more to protect evangelicals than Cruz, comparing himself to Ronald Reagan. And frankly, I would say that I would be a far better leader.
