Sen. Tim Scott to endorse Marco Rubio
Scott’s endorsement would be a boost in SC for Rubio who has struggled to break through in a crowded Republican field dominated by Ted Cruz and Donald Trump.

In an interview with CNN’s Jamie Gangel, Marco Rubio says he is confident he will emerge as the Republican nominee – and expects to face Hillary Clinton in the general election. “I’m putting my confidence and my trust in Marco Rubio”.
One of the sources said the two senators would appear together for the announcement, but added that details were still being worked out.
South Carolina’s primary has been targeted by Rubio’s camp since his campaign and a pro-Rubio political-action committee are run by veteran Palmetto State political operatives.
U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, left, South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Matt Moore, center, and U.S. Sen. Tim Scott gave the Republican presidential hopeful his backing.
The outstanding endorsement prize is South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, who delivered the GOP’s national response to President Barack Obama’s state of the union address last month.

Meanwhile, U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan, a Laurens Republican who was first elected in the Tea Party surge of 2010, will endorse Cruz in Greenville on Tuesday.
