Sena asks Bhagwat to announce date of Ram temple construction

On the occasion today, which is also the 23rd anniversary of Barbri Masjid demolition, the chief minister asked the BJP and the RSS to announce the date of construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya as the people were anxious to know the date on which the temple would come up. “If a temple can not be built there despite the bloodshed that happened over the issue, what about the hundreds of people who sacrificed their lives for the cause”, the Sena said in an editorial in its mouthpiece “Saamana“.

VHP chief Praveen Togadia on Sunday expressed hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would guarantee a grand Ram Mandir is inbuilt Ayodhaya as determined by the BJP national government and promised within the Lok Sabha elections.

“Lord Ram’s temple will be built, just as Sardar Patel had built Somnath temple, meaning by making a legislation in parliament”, the VHP leader said.

Togadia said that a resolution for the construction of a Ram Temple was passed at BJP’s national executive at Palanpur in Himachal Pradesh in 1987.

The Shiv Sena in its mouthpiece Saamna, said that the issue of Ram Mandir being raised by Bhagwat has to be answered only by the ruling dispensation at the Centre- the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“This issue can not be prolonged anymore”.

Bhagwat had on Wednesday said, “The grand goal may be realised in our own time”. May be, we will see it with our own eyes.
