Senate approves bill for water projects; millions for Flint

But on Thursday she returned to the campaign trail in North Carolina, where she weighed in on the Flint affair. And I said, ‘wow, this was kind of odd.’ And then she came up.

Mr Trump held an event at a black church in nearby Detroit earlier this month, and has pledged in recent speeches to help the black community, which he has described as being besieged by poverty and crime.

“Hillary failed on the economy”. But then, he attacked Clinton, saying “everything she touched didn’t work out”.

“Mr. Trump, I invited you here to thank us for what we’ve done in Flint, not give a political speech”, the pastor said after Trump began to criticize Clinton on Wednesday before the congregation of about 70 people. “Okay, that’s good. Then I’m going back onto Flint, okay?”

“We have our chance to show Donald Trump that this nation is filled with intelligent, wise black citizens of integrity many of whom live right in Flint, Michigan”, she wrote.

The paper’s editorial board said Trump “denigrates any individual or group that displeases him”, and “changes political views nearly as often as he changes wives”.

“Some have suggested online that they were out to sabotage you by putting that up”.

“Hillary’s been here, we hear what she had to say”, Ms Brezzell told the Flint Journal. “And then she came up, so she had that in mind, there’s no question about it”. “No question about it”, Trump said. It doesn’t bother me. Timmons had even released a statement before the visit, clarifying, “Trump’s presence at Bethel United Methodist in no way represents an endorsement of his candidacy”. I’m going to go back.

“No, I never would, never would”, Trump replied.

Clinton responded to Trump’s characterization during a news conference Thursday afternoon, taking issue with Trump calling her “nervous”.

Trump said, though, that “everyone plays their games, it doesn’t bother me”.

As he spoke, Reverend Faith Green Timmons walked over, her hands clasped, and interrupted him.

Trump insisted on Fox that those at the church had been welcoming. The pastor stepped in and silenced them too, saying that Trump “is our guest” who should be honored. “We need the U.S. House to come together in a bipartisan way to get this to the finish line, and for the state to maintain and grow its commitment so that Flint residents can once again trust the safety of water coming out of their tap”.

Donald Trump visits a black church. It goes about as well as you would expect.
