The Republican nominee’s campaign said Trump is planning to tour a water plant and discuss the crisis.

Flint’s water crisis was preceded by E. coli detections; resident complaints about color, odor and taste; and high levels of a disinfectant byproduct.

Flint Mayor Karen Weaver, who is actually scheduled to be in Washington on Wednesday, has endorsed Hillary Clinton and made critical remarks about Trump.

“Mr. Trump, I’ve gone one question for you and it’s a pretty simple one: where the hell have you been?” shouted Ron Bieber, Michigan AFL-CIO president, during a press conference by Flint Rising outside the plant ahead of Trump’s expected visit. “We’ve had a city in the United States of America where the population, which is poor in many ways and majority African-American, has been drinking and bathing in lead-contaminated water”.

Obama said, “He’s spent most of his life trying to stay as far away from working people as he could”.

“I’ll be very interested to see if indeed he’s going to say anything about the Republican mess that caused the human health crisis in Flint”, he added. Weaver also spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. Meyers also said that due to double standards, the rules are different for Clinton and Donald Trump.

Her reaction when she was contacted by Trump’s campaign?

Bieber noted if Trump really cared about Flint “he’d pull out his checkbook while he’s here and write a personal check for $10 million to help the families of Flint recover”. My message today is pretty clear, ‘Donald Trump, go home.

The visit comes less than two weeks since his last stop in MI, when he worshiped at a Detroit church.Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton speaks at the House Of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016 in Flint, Mich. It came up briefly during the Republican debate held in Detroit, and Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette talked about the crisis during his speech at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

The Flint water crisis began when the city, which was under the control of a state-appointed emergency manager, switched its water supply in April 2014 from the Detroit Water and Sewerage System, which draws from Lake Huron, to a new supplier that drew water from the Flint River. But tests later showed that the river water was improperly treated and coursed through aging pipes and fixtures, releasing toxic lead.
