Senator Carper Meets with US Supreme Court Nominee Merrick Garland
“What we are seeing right now with this Supreme Court nomination is partisan politics at its worst on both sides of the aisle”.

The questionnaire is typically used by all senators to evaluate the nominee’s qualifications and then is used as the basis for developing questions at the nominee’s confirmation hearing.
The White House has moved ahead with the nomination process despite Republicans’ insistence they won’t act.
The meeting comes as the judge has completed a Senate Judiciary Questionnaire.
Outside groups aligned with the White House have also engaged in a PR campaign to pressure Republicans to reverse course, airing ads and holding events in states where incumbent senators are running for reelection.
On Tuesday, Sen. Orrin G. Hatch, R-Utah, a former Judiciary Committee chairman and current member of the panel, declined to say he wasn’t concerned about Trump’s potential nominees. “But imagining Donald Trump picking a Supreme Court justice is something I never thought would cross my mind”.
