Senator Collins says she may support Hillary Clinton for president
The goal was to allay fears of those concerned by Trump’s controversial comments about a federal judge’s ethnicity, stress party unity, and discuss efforts to raise money heading into the general election against presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, the reports said.

‘She said she was Native American, but she wasn’t able to document it, ‘ Trump said then.
Thursday night in Washington, Warren delivered a speech to a constitutional lawyers’ group in which she slammed Trump for his comments about a Mexican-American federal judge overseeing fraud cases against one of his businesses.
When Republicans convene in Cleveland to nominate Donald Trump president next month, state Sen. But again she said, “I do not anticipate voting for Hillary this fall”.
For many of them, Trump as the nominee, represents an existential threat to the party.
That seeming contradiction points up a caveat in assessing Trump: So far as a candidate he’s projected inconsistency or lack of clarity.
“I’m going to do everything I can to help Hillary Clinton get elected and I’m going to do everything I can to make sure that Donald Trump never comes within shouting distance of the White House”, the senator said. OK?’ Trump said May 26 during a press conference in Bismarck, North Dakota.
A number of high-profile Republicans have also criticized Trump over his remarks about Curiel, agreeing that it fits the definition of racist language.
David Perdue voiced enthusiastic support for Trump. Collins told me that Trump’s comment about Curiel was “an order of magnitude more serious” than anything he had previously said, including his “troubling insults towards individuals” and “his poorly-thought-out policy plan about banning Muslims from entering this country”.
The first problem is, there is only so much you can say about two dead presidents, as respected as they might be. Plus, Sanders himself has committed to strategizing with Clinton to defeat Trump. “If you cordon off the Vietnam era and go back to Kennedy and Truman, you don’t have the allergy to the use of force in the Democratic Party”, he says. “We’ll continue to process his judicial nominations, but the minority is not going to dictate to the majority when and how we will do so”, he said.
But many say Trump has the delegates needed to prevail.
“I think it shows a conscience on his part that he stepped in it. Whether or not this is a major correction or not, I don’t know”, said Graham, who abandoned his own presidential campaign past year. In so doing, hope you defuse the negative power of Trump’s words – and preserve the possibility he lives to campaign another day as a viable choice for Republicans.
But every time Haslam is asked about Trump, he seems to be drifting further away from his party’s presumptive nominee.

Reaching back well before the Iraq war of George W. Bush, Saunders says, “If you look at cold war presidents like Reagan, Nixon, and Eisenhower, those were not presidents who were launching major wars”.
