Seoul says North Korea fired a ballistic missile into the sea

The missile was test-fired from near Eunyul in southwestern South Hwanghae Province at 7:50 a.m., South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said, adding that it is analyzing its trajectory. The command’s statement said initial indications reveal one of the missiles exploded immediately after launch, while the second was tracked over North Korea and into the Sea of Japan.

Japan PM Shinzō Abe on Wednesday defined the test fire of ballistic missile by North Korea as serious threat.

The missile appeared to be a Rodong-type medium-range missile that flew about 1,000 km (620 miles), it said. The previous launch was two weeks earlier, when it fired three ballistic missiles into the sea.

The DPRK military has threatened to take “physical measures” against the THAAD deployment site.

Prior to the Hong Kong contest, where he won a silver medal, Ri won silver medals at the 2014 contest in Cape Town, South Africa and last year’s in Chiang Mai, Thailand, experiences gave him glimpses at the world outside North Korea.

The nation’s self defense force remains on alert in case of further North Korean missile launches, he told reporters.

The backdrop of this hack is escalating tensions on the Korean peninsula ever since North Korea conducted its fourth nuclear test in January, along with ballistic missile tests.

U.S. Army Secretary Eric Fanning said Saturday that annual military drills between the United States and South Korea would go ahead next month, despite North Korea’s warning of a “vicious” showdown if the war games proceed.

He said the North has carried out many more cyberattacks than is publicly known, making it hard for South Korea to fend off all of them.

It’s a clear evidence to support a claim that THAAD in South Korea is not aimed at intercepting DPRK missiles, but supervising and pressuring China and Russian Federation as part of US efforts at its Pivot-to-Asia strategy. A Rodong fired in March flew about 800 kilometers (500 miles) while two other Rodongs launched in 2014 flew about 650 kilometers (400 miles).

“Whenever a (political) crisis occurs, South Korea cooks up a conspiracy blamed on us in a bid to avert the attention of the public”, the propaganda website said.
