Separatist group celebrates Pakistani Independence Day in J&K, hoists flag

A group of DeM activists led by Asiya Andrabi had gathered in Bachpora area on the outskirts of the city. The police patrolling and curfew were imposed to prevent law and order getting out of hand in these areas after a women separatist group Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) (Daughters of Faith) celebrated Pakistan’s Independence Day in the valley by hoisting the flag of neighboring nation on Friday (August 14). Later on the footage of ceremony showed Adrabi singing Pakistan’a national anthem while waving Pakistani flags.

India’s ANI news agency reported that the Pakistani flags were seen in the old city of Srinagar.

Pro-independence Kashmiri activists hoist the Pakistani flag on August 14 every year to celebrate the independence of Pakistan from British rule in 1947. “She has ensured that her sons remain safe, but she wants the other Kashmiri youth to take up arms and end up in graveyards”, he said.

The moment pictures of Andrabi and her supporters sitting in a room with Pakistan flags displayed prominently emerged, the police and the administration swung into action to locate the place where this anti-India activity was carried out. “Asiya’s family has made lot of money by selling the blood of innocent young boys who became victims of their propaganda”, he said.
