Reigning Australian Open champion Angelique Kerber has admitted that she was helpless in preventing the world number one Serena Williams’ unstoppable force which guided the American to a seventh Wimbledon title.

“Serena is someone who beats records and not just equals them”, said her French coach Patrick Mouratoglou.

Between the victory over Kerber and being called to the courts for the doubles match, Serena paraded her trophy, signed autographs, held a press conference and conducted television interviews.

“I have, yeah, definitely had some sleepless nights, if Im just honest, with a lot of stuff, ” Williams said about trying to get win No. 22.
