Sergio Aguero Claims to Be Nearing Manchester City Return for Liverpool Tie

The last time the Argentine played for City was when he was part of a 6-1 demolition of Newcastle in which he scored 5 of the blue’s 6 goals that day.

Goal.com have now reported that the playmaker has “stepped up his recovery” and could make a City return when Liverpool make the short trip to Manchester on November 21.

City have been able to maintain their place at the top of the Premier League table despite Aguero’s absence, with Manuel Pellegrini’s men ahead of Arsenal on goal difference. The Uruguayan will then have the best possible chance of putting out a full strength side when the premier league gets back under way in just under two weeks.

Although City saw Wilfried Bony suffer a hamstring injury at Villa Park, they should have several key figures back to bolster their squad after the two-week interval.

“It was a good occasion to do it. It was City, and City were full of confidence, they had a brilliant game in Sevilla, so I think it’s a good point to work on”.

He is not away with Argentina in the current global break and is working hard to return to action when City host Liverpool a week on Saturday. “We’ll see how it goes in the next week or so”, said Pablo.

“I’ll take things slowly and not rush into anything, but I’m not far away”, he said.

‘At the moment the plan is to re-join the rest of the team next Monday so hopefully, everything will go well and I’ll be available for our next game’.

The hamstring injury sustained against Aston Villa has been confirmed as one that will keep him out of the Ivory Coast’s World Cup qualifying double-header against Liberia, which probably casts a doubt over his availability when Liverpool come to the Etihad Stadium.
