Serial shooter or shooters may be responsible for seven murders in Phoenix

Horacio de Jesus Pena, 32, was also killed in a drive-by shooting while standing outside a residence the night of June 3.

Manuel Castro Garcia was sitting in a auto outside a house in the area of 65th Avenue and Coronado Road the night of June 10 when, authorities said, a dark sedan pulled up next to him.

The police department is working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The United States Marshal’s Service, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, the Department of Public Safety and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are all assisting with the case.

Last month, cops announced that they had connected four shootings in the Maryvale neighborhood in which victims were ambushed outside their homes, near their cars.

Police Sgt. Jonathan Howard said the victims all were outside or in a vehicle when shot in or near residential neighborhoods during hours of darkness but have little in common in terms of age, race or gender and there’s no known motive.

June 12: At approximately 3 a.m., Angela Linner, 12-year-old Maleah Ellis and Stefanie Ellis were shot and killed in front of a home in the area of 6300 W. Berkeley Road. The suspect has been described by police as a male in his early 20s, with a skinny or lanky build. White was found dead early on April 19 along a street east of downtown after neighbors reported hearing gunshots.

Police believe that in each incident the suspect arrived and departed in a vehicle, but that vehicle description has varied from a light-colored sedan to a dark-colored sedan. Police are reviewing all incidents since January 2016 that they think might be related.

So far, at least seven shooting deaths have been linked to the same shooter or shooters in Phoenix, a lot of them in the West Valley, since April.

Tuesday morning, they said investigators have identified four additional cases, including one homicide, two aggravated assaults and one criminal damage/shots fired incident. Two people were wounded in separate shootings in March.

“She was a attractive person inside and out”, she said of the mother of six.

One of those shootings occurred east of downtown.

On March 17, a 16-year-old teen was shot while walking near 11th Street and Moreland.

Later, on June 12, around 2:30 a.m., an unoccupied auto was shot in 6200 West Mariposa Drive.
