Met Police officers were called to what they describe “a large fight” between youngsters in Northumberland Heath in Bexley at around 5.40pm on Monday.
Dozens of young people violently attacked one another in a playground.
Reports on social media suggested around 100 individuals were involved, some wearing school uniform, near the Duchess of Kent pub.
The Met Police’s Territorial Support Group arrived at Northumberland Heath near Erith with police dogs to break up the violent clash.
Two individuals, taken to hospital received non-life threatening injuries.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said around seven males, aged between 15 and 21 years, were arrested and taken to south London police stations.
Local councillor Danny Hackett said he was “concerned” by the reports of violence.
One witness, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Evening Standard: “It was just scary”.
A police helicopter was seen flying overhead as officers below desperately tried to quell the violence.
Bexley borough commander Chief Superintendent Jeff Boothe said the large-scale fight was a shocking thing for anyone to witness.
More than 40 calls were made to the emergency services, as every officer in Bexley was deployed to five incidents in different locations. “The calls had to be prioritised based on the risks and scale of disorder at each venue”.

He added: “Officers will be contacting those people who contacted police over the next coming days as part of the investigation, and to provide further reassurance”.
