Seven killed, 13 injured in blast outside PML-N member’s office

At least seven people were killed while 13 others injured on Wednesday after a bomb exploded inside the political office of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA, Sardar Amjad Farooq Khan Khosa in Dera Ghazi Khan’s Taunsa area, Express News reported.

Earlier reports said five people were killed in the blast.

The leader was in Islamabad at the time of the attack.

DG Khan Ghulam Mubashir Mekan said that the blast targeted the election office of PML-N lawmaker in the National Assembly Sardar Amjad Farooq Khosa in Taunsa Sharif tehsil of Dera Ghazi Khan.

Eyewitnesses said that over 100 people were present at the office at the time of the blast, but the PML-N MNA was in Islamabad.

The police personnel also reached the spot and cordoned off the area as well as launched an investigation into the incident.

According to sources, the sound of the blast was heard from at least two kilometers.

Amjad Farooq Khosa, MNA while talking to media men said that attack on his camp office was a dastardly act.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

PML-N’s local leader Akhter Tangwani has been identified among deceased people.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan and other political leaders have also condemned the attack.

A similar attack killed Punjab home minister Colonel (retd) Shuja Khanzada at his political office near Attock town in August this year.

They deplored the loss of precious lives in the incident and directed the authorities concerned to provide best possible medical treatment to the injured.
