Precautionary/preparedness actions… A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties.
Tuesday night: Cloudy with a 60 percent chance of snow. Frigid temperatures continue this week, with lows in the single digits to lower teens, and highs in the 20s.
Warmer weather is predicted for Sunday and Monday, with highs expected to be in the low to mid-30s, the NWS Sioux Falls office said.
Today: A swath of snow south of Interstate 70 hasn’t moved much, and it’s expected to produce accumulating snowfall through the morning commute, said StormCenter 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini. This is especially true Tuesday night into Wednesday as snow showers remain possible with a low of 27.
The latest forecast map from the National Weather Service Mount Holly station projects 2-3 inches of snow falling in Monmouth and Ocean counties, with up to 3 or 4 in Little Egg Harbor.
Madison’s official snow depth is 3 inches. Plows should be able to keep up with it, due to the gradual nature of these snow showers.
Winds will be north, 10-20 miles per hour, with gusts up to 35 miles per hour. Cloudy, with a high near 26. Those could lead to some minor accumulations, but less than an additional inch from Tuesday’s snow. Cloudy, with a low around 22. Thursday will see a high of 37 degrees and a low of 21.
