Officers on yesterday night were on their way to break up a big crowd at Bunny Friend park in the city when gunfire erupted, the Guardian quoted police spokesman Tyler Gamble as saying.
At least 10 of the injured shooting victims have been taken to University Medical Centre hospital, local channel WWLTV reported. Several people were lying on the sidewalk after the shooting, it said. Police say 21-year-old Euric Cain of New Orleans is wanted on charges of armed robbery, second-degree kidnapping and attempted first-degree murder.
New Orleans police superintendant Michael Harrison said multiple people had fired into a crowd of more than 300 people. Police say several hundred people had gathered at bunny friend playground to shoot a music video when two groups began shooting at each other.
The incident occurred as people were shooting an impromptu music video, WWL reports. Later someone called Raven and told her her niece had been shot.

A few witnesses told the Times-Picayune newspaper that they saw a man with a machine gun head toward Louisa Avenue, located north of the park, after the shootings. “They were a block away when they heard gunshots and were flagged down” from there. Both of the groups that opened fire escaped on foot, police said. “We need them to come forward and tell us who did this so that we can bring them to justice”, the police chief said.
