Central Arkansas saw especially heavy rains, with flash floods reported in the Conway area, in Vilonia, at several locations in Little Rock and on Arkansas 111 in Saline County. Look for another one to two inches of rain to fall Monday evening.

A warm front will move in from the south on Monday, bringing abundant moisture into East Texas, and the chance for showers and a few isolated thunderstorms. The heaviest of the storms will hit Harris County between 11am-2pm.

Entergy reported more than 10,000 of its customers in Garland County lost power while more than 1,600 each were in the dark in Pulaski and Union counties.

The storms will be passing right through during the morning commute for most, making the conditions for the morning commute rough. Interstate 76 east of Denver may be particularly treacherous for travelers. There was no organized risk farther north as of Monday morning. Some could be strong to severe in the morning hours.

Halliburton officials say no employees were at a chemical facility in the Texas Panhandle when the site was hit by a tornado. The company says it was recently closed and no chemicals or workers were there at the time.

A tornado watch has been issued for northwest Louisiana as a storm system carrying heavy rainfall heads toward the area.

“Surface instability and convective energy may be somewhat low across eastern Oklahoma, but extremely strong wind shear (direction and speed) will be present with this system”, he said.
