Severe Weather Possible Wednesday
Forecasters are warning stormy weather could hit 63 million people in the central U.S. as colliding air masses threaten strong winds and even tornadoes.

On Sunday, November 8, The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center located in Norman, Oklahoma, informed the public that a fast-moving storm is likely to come into sudden contact with moisture and humidity coming from the Gulf of Mexico.
The Storm Prediction Center of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration classified Arkansas as having an “enhanced” risk for severe storms – the third-highest of five categories it designates for storm potential.
Severe storms with damaging winds are expected to move through the Kansas City area Wednesday.
November storms aren’t unusual, but the nation most often sees its worst storms in the spring. “This storm system will also be bringing a cold front across the state on Wednesday afternoon”, Britt told Missourinet.
Officials are tracking reports of severe weather throughout Iowa that’s carrying strong winds, rain and hail.
From the Colorado Rockies to the high plains of Nebraska, winter storm warnings and blizzard warnings are in effect. He said ground crews have been able to keep up with the snow.
“The drivers are just doing their normal thing”, he said. High winds and blowing snow have caused several accidents in western Nebraska, but no injuries have been reported. The metro area is in the “slight risk” area for severe storms, and those chances increase to the north.
“Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes can happen any time of the year”, IEMA director James K. Joseph said in a statement, NBC Chicago reported.
“Basically there’s a warm side and a cold side to these systems, and the unifying threat is a very strong wind field all the way around it”, he said.
