Tonight, however, it will be clear and seasonable with low temperatures dropping to the middle 50s with a south wind 5-10 miles per hour. Large hail pelted Post in Garza County earlier this afternoon and we saw funnel clouds just west of Post earlier this afternoon and evening.

Our string of severe weather days begins Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening with storm chances and severe weather in western Oklahoma. Widespread severe weather is not expected through the first half of the week.in fact, some areas will stay dry given the isolated to scattered nature of the anticipated storms. The exact timing depends on when and where the previous day’s rain/storms track over. A very busy day is possible across our viewing area, especially in areas shaded in ORANGE including Lubbock and Plainview to Crosbyton, Floydada and Matador. Some storms may become severe with large hail and damaging wind.
