Sevilla keeper stocks full as they dismiss interest in Man Utd’s Valdes

Victor Valdes, who only signed for the Red Devils last January, has found himself ousted from the first-team after a high-profile fall-out with United boss Louis Van Gaal; which came to light during the post season.

Sevilla president Jose Castro has insisted that they are happy with their current crop of goalkeepers with youngster Sergio Rico set to be given a run in the side ahead of Portuguese veteran Beto.

It hasn’t been an easy ride for Valdes since his Barcelona contract came to an end and he joined the Premier League with disagreements and competition keeping the 33-year-old out of the starting XI.

Valdes was close to a move to Besiktas but the deal collapsed in the final days of the transfer window after the Turkish outfit opted to changes the terms of the deal.

“Valdes is not an option”, he told Europapress. “We have no intention of finding goalkeeping cover”, he explained.

The former Barcelona keeper won 21 titles, including six La Ligas and three Champions Leagues, at the Nou Camp and was expected to make a big impact at United when he joined them in October 2014.
