Sex abuse scandal at Penn State

A Philadelphia judge on Tuesday morning unsealed documents revealing testimony that suggests former Penn State assistant coaches Tom Bradley and Greg Schiano knew of Jerry Sandusky’s abuse of children. The other is John Doe 71, who reportedly said he was raped by Sandusky in 1971 and told Paterno over the phone of the assault.

“Specifically, yes”, said the man identified as John Doe 150.

“I was shocked, disappointed, offended, I was insulted”, John Doe 150 testified.

Newly released court documents say Joe Paterno allegedly knew about assistant coach Jerry Sandusky’s predatory conduct earlier in his career. You’re not going to do anything else?’

“Person to person, it was just the two of us, but there were several people within three, four, five feet”, John Doe 150 testified, according to the documents.

Sandusky was found guilty in 2012 of 45 charges of sexual abuse of young boys over a fifteen-year period from 1994 to 2009.

Paterno died in 2012 at the age of 85.

“Joe Paterno never engaged in a cover up of Jerry Sandusky’s crimes”, the family said. According to PennLive.com, Pennsylvania Manufacturers Association Insurance Co. has claimed in court that Penn State had a duty to inform it of incidents that could result in liability exposure.

“I’ve known Greg for 20-some years”, Meyer told Blade columnist Dave Briggs. “Nor did he have any knowledge of alleged incidents in the 80’s or 90’s”, Bradley’s attorney said in a statement.

After leaving Rutgers for a head coaching stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Schiano is now the associate head coach and defensive coordinator at Ohio State. The estate is claiming that the NCAA defamed the once-legendary coach by placing blame on Paterno and imposing sanctions on Penn State.

This is all “he said versus he said”, and who you believe will likely fall on the side of whether or not you support Paterno.

Bradley, now defensive coordinator at UCLA, denied any knowledge of allegations against Sandusky stemming from the 1980s or 1990s, noting that he only became aware of a 2001 incident after it had already been reported to Penn State administration. Assistant coach Joe Sarra walked into the room and saw them, Doe 75 testified.

Lawyer Eric Anderson said the school “made little effort, if any, to verify the credibility of the claims of the individuals”. He added he and Bradley often complained about Sandusky’s access to Penn State facilities.

But lawyer Ken Feinberg, who helped mediate claims against the university, said Penn State was diligent in making sure the claims were supported by sufficient proof.

Anderson’s statements were contained in court documents unsealed Tuesday in a dispute between Penn State and its insurer.

“Speculation also serves to drive a wedge within the Penn State community”.
