The Gaza-based terror group Hamas praised the terror attack in the southern city of Beersheba tonight, in which one Israeli was killed and five were injured. An Israeli guy was killed in the assault and six other people, in addition to four cops officers, were wounded to varying degrees, cops said.

The surviving attacker has been evacuated along with the other victims to the Soroka hospital in Beersheba.

Police originally believed there were two attackers, yet now think there was a sole gunman and one of the victims was mistaken for a terrorist, Fox News’ Jerusalem bureau reported.

Be’er Sheva native, Eli Ben-Dahan, who is Israel’s Deputy Defense Minister has stated to the press that “the worldwide community has a duty to fight against and stop the phenomenon of sedition and encouragement of terrorism by the heads of the Palestinian Authority”.

Calling the attack “stepping up from knife attacks to shooting”, he added: “I call again on the government to expel the families of terrorists”. The Times reported that Bedouin leaders condemned the attack, while the terrorist’s father, Khalil Alukabi, said, “This is an individual act carried out by my son on his own accord”.

Elsewhere in the West Bank, 100 Palestinians hurled firebombs and rocks at soldiers at Tulkarm.

Eight Israelis have been killed in more than 20 stabbing attacks since last month, while at least 35 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire, including 18 alleged attackers.

“Today we will begin taking steps against incitement, including against the Islamic Movement, which is the foremost inciters”, he said, adding that Israel will take action against that group’s source of funding.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, meanwhile rejected French calls for worldwide observers around the al-Aqsa mosque and other holy sites in Jerusalem. “We are the only ones doing that, and will continue to do this responsibly and seriously”.

This is the change in the status quo that has caused all the events there over the a year ago, he said.

Thousands of security personnel have been deployed by Israel, following a series of terror attacks by Palestinian assaulters.

There is, however, a call in the proposal to “internationalize the holy sites”.
