In it, a younger (and pointedly less titillating) Lara Croft gets stranded on an island full of violent cult members and equally violent supernatural warriors. There will be a Standard Edition and a Limited Edition of the game. News on the next Tomb Raider game is set for tomorrow, but it seems much of the news has leaked already. In the spirit of telling the tale of how Lara goes on to become a tomb raider, the folks behind the movie wanted to show a survivalist heroine who isn’t a trained killer and not a soldier. “But it’s an adventure, and I was really intrigued to go on it”.
Seven years after the disappearance of her father, 21-year-old Lara has refused to take the reins of his global business empire, instead working as a bike courier in London while taking college classes. When we meet her, she’s a bit cynical about the fantasies and stories her father told her as a child. Both of those things are awesome, the problem is that the plot itself is pretty tiresome.

Shooting the action sequences for the film was the first challenge for Vikander. Dominic West more or less plays himself as posh daddy Croft, while a bearded Walton Goggins proves once again that he should always be typecast as a loveable-ish rogue. We were like two children running around.
