The full members exclude India but Sethi said in a recent interview he would try to talk to the Indian officials to convince them to allow atleast a few Indian players to appear in the inaugural edition of the PSL which would boost the prestige and reputation of the league.
“Pakistan needs the series to be held because of the financial benefits it can earn from the series”. PCB chairman Shahryar Khan recently said that Pakistan will wait till October-end to take “the next steps”.
India have not played a full bilateral Test series with Pakistan after the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. But after the Mumbai terror attacks, Pakistan players were kept at a safe distance by team owners.
“Some of the foreign players who played in the Caribbean premier league and Bangladesh premier league for between USD 75,000 to 90,000 dollars are now demanding much higher sums through their agents”, the source told PTI.
The Former ICC chief Ehsan Mani has advised the Pakistan Cricket Board to not play India in the group games of ICC events if the arch-rivals don’t play the planned series in December.
Mani said we should take a very clear line on this issue (Indo-Pak Series) in fact we shouldn’t pursue India at all. It will be hard for them to refuse that. “If Indian players do come in, then I think PSL will become the biggest thing in cricket after IPL”.

The PSL is now scheduled to be played between 4th and 24th February in Dubai and Sharjah, although those dates clash with Australia’s tour of New Zealand. It has even listed an Indian coach, former all-rounder Robin Singh.
