As a result of the sighting- as well as last week’s shark attack-authorities made a decision to close the water from Warner Avenue to Anderson Street.

A stretch of of Huntington Beach was closed due to the sighting of multiple sharks, authorities said.
The sharks didn’t appear to be aggressive, he said.
Swimming had been prohibited in the waters off Orange County after the attack on a wetsuit-wearing swimmer the day before Memorial Day left the woman with “significant open wounds” that “bled a lot”, according to medical authorities. Authorities will reevaluate the waters Monday morning before deciding to reopen access.

Doctors said Korcsmaros – a mom and triathlete – is expected to recover from the bite sustained May 29 at Corona Del Mar State Beach. Two or three sharks longer than eight feet were spotted by an Orange County Sheriff’s Department helicopter around 2 p.m., officials said.

The water between Anderson Street South in Seal Beach and Warner Avenue, a mile stretch, was closed to swimmers, Huntington Beach Lifeguards Marine Safety Lieutenant Claude Panis.
