Sharp Hospitals Turn Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Larry Fitzgerald, with the help of the Arizona Cardinals, is raising awareness and support for breast cancer research in honor of his mother and those who have been affected by breast cancer.

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers and while it primarily affects women each year a small number of men are also diagnosed. That world now includes a family of people working to stop breast cancer. Lori Pietig, radiology director at St. Anthony, says self-examination is the first step in early detection and these models give them the chance to teach women about self-exams and how a lump feels in the breast tissue.
MC of the event Liz Cunningham payed tribute to Breast Cancer survivors in the audience and highlighted a few of the Cancer Councils greatest achievements of the year.

“I got involved because my mum had a breast cancer scare about 15 years ago”.
Rick Martin-Bacon, Ex-British Army commander, had fallen victim to breast cancer in 2012.
“I wanted to do something to help – it’s better than sitting around doing nothing all day”, Mr Laing said.
The presenter went on to praise Breast Cancer Care for their tireless efforts in helping those suffering from the disease.
Hanna’s battle inspired her nursing school sisters to form Team Hanna’s Hooters to take part in Savannah’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. She has two more chemotherapy treatments, and then radiation ahead of her. Although this news is devastating, Hunt said she hasn’t shed a tear yet. “Seeing pink and women wearing pink just spells awareness”, she said.

“I think it’s wonderful that the guys can wear pink and be proud about wearing pink because they know the money they raise is going to help local ladies”, Runyan said.
