Joely Fisher, her children’s half-sister (and daughter of her ex-husband Eddie), sent her condolences on Twitter.

St. Agnes Dr. Dalpinder Sandhu said broken heart syndrome is a real thing, it is a stress-induced heart condition. A day later, her mother, Debbie Reynolds, also passed away due to cardiac arrest.

He also confirmed to the New York Daily News the family wants a joint service which will honour the bond between mother and daughter. “I don’t think she hardly knows what to do without having Carrie to look after”.

Shortly before she fell ill, Reynolds had expressed an interest in laying her only daughter to rest at the spot where she planned to be buried, Mr Fisher added.

It’s a fitting tribute that the pair are celebrated together, as they were both publicly and privately very close and much loved.

Fellow actress Bette Midler said the news of Reynolds death so soon after Fisher died is “too hard to comprehend”, describing Reynolds as “beautiful, talented [and] devoted to her craft”.

[While planning Carrie’s funeral], she said she wanted to be with Carrie. “My mother and my sister are together right now”, Todd Fisher told the Associated Press. [There was] enormous stress on her, obviously. “[Debbie] felt she had already left the building, so to speak”.

“Obviously it’s not finalised, but I think that sounds like a grand idea given the handsome story between them”.
