Now, the actor’s father, Martin Sheen, has spoken out about his son’s health and his courageous decision to reveal his diagnosis to the public.
“He and his managers want to treat me like I was just another ‘unsavory woman, ‘” she said. I thought it was over”, he said, before adding, “It’s a hard three letters to absorb.
Charlie, 50, confirmed that he was diagnosed with the virus four years ago during the live chat with host Matt Lauer which, was broadcast on US TV on Tuesday morning.
“Charlie has definitely done a few things that you would consider high risk that would have increased his chance of contracting HIV”, she said in a recent interview.
Retired adult film star Bree Olson says Sheen never told her he was HIV positive despite the fact that they “slept together every night” for over a year. Sheen’s viral HIV load is now “consistently undetectable”, Huizenga said.
After the interview, Sheen’s ex-girlfriend Bree Olson said he had not informed her of his HIV status.
Sheen has reportedly reached out to Johnson, and the two are expected to talk soon.

Magic Johnson, who announced in 1991 that he was infected, says the virus is no longer detected in his blood.
“I hope he shines a light on a lot of the people that are struggling with those same issues that don’t have the resources”, she said.
Sheen’s doctor, Robert Huizenga, said the actor “does not have AIDS”, that he is taking antiretroviral drugs and that his viral HIV load was now “consistently undetectable”. I can’t speak for him of course.
After hearing rumors of Sheen’s HIV diagnosis through the media, Olson recorded herself on her cell phone going to get tested and learning that she is HIV negative.

But in California, where Sheen resides, a person can be charged with a felony only if they are aware they are HIV-positive and engage in unprotected sex with another person with the specific intent of exposing them to the disease.
