Mumbai: After Sheena Bora went missing on April 24, 2012, Rahul Mukerjea, the younger son of former media tycoon Peter Mukerjea and Sheena’s fianc, kept trying to trace her, audio clips have revealed.

Though the tapes do not conclusively prove anything, if genuine they would imply that the Mukherjea couple did not want Rahul to continue with his pursuit of Sheena Bora.

She said that the tapes being played had already been taken into account during the CBI’s investigation. She said Sheena had told the HR about taking a leave and that she had not formally resigned.

The lawyers for the accused, including Peter’s advocate Mihir Gheewala, informed the court they were ready as well though the CBI has yet to inform the court that its investigations are over.

Speaking to CNN-News18, Indrani Mukerjea said that she wasn’t aware of the fact that her calls were being recorded.

Rahul and Sheena were reportedly in love and wanted to marry.

Indrani tells Rahul that Sheena might have found some other person to take money from.

Peter is also heard saying in the tapes that he had no knowledge of Sheena’s whereabouts. Indrani and her former husband Sanjeev Khanna were arrested on August 24, 2015, three days after the arrest of her former driver, Rai. Nearly three months later, on November 19, 2015, even her current husband Peter Mukerjea was nabbed in the case.

Gheewala contended that the tapes form a vital evidence in the case and their airing could directly affect the witnesses. Shocking details unearthed during the probe into the high-profile case left the entire nation dumbfounded.

Indrani Mukerjea, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and Rai had allegedly strangled Sheena, 24, Indrani’s daughter from an earlier relationship, inside a auto in April 2012.

Reacting to the latest development, Peter Mukerjea said that he knew about the recordings as it was he who had helped Rahul to write the transcript.

Born out of Indrani’s earlier relationship with Siddhartha Das in Shillong, Sheena and her brother Mikhail were virtually abandoned by their mother and raised by their grandparents in Guwahati and later Kolkata.

It was only on May 23, 2012, when local villagers complained of a foul smell emanating from a particular spot in the forests that the Raigad police found Sheena’s body, but it was not properly recorded till more than three years till August 2015.
