Snyder called is a “completely unprovoked and random attack”, saying: “It’s inexplicable”.

Mr Snyder said Harrouff stormed out of the nearby Duffy’s, a popular sports bar and restaurant, at about 8.30pm local time. But a football teammate said his lack of aggression frustrated his coaches. “They still couldn’t get him off”.

She described him as a nice person.

They did not open gunfire on the suspect out of fear of hitting the victim.

Snyder said he “wouldn’t be surprised” if Harrouff had been high on flakka given the nature of the crime but that police wouldn’t be sure until they received a full toxicology report.

Tests have ruled out heroin, cocaine or methamphetamine use but more complex synthetic drugs such as flakka take longer to show up.

Stevens later died at the scene. Mishcon was found dead in the garage.

“It was the cutest thing”, Lourie said.

Another man was caught kicking in the glass door of a police station becuase he said he was being chased by an angry mob. He is expected to survive.

Dr. Wade Harrouff, a dentist, declined to comment about his son’s arrest. It is unknown if Austin Harrouff has an attorney.

He ended up about four miles away, switchblade in hand, at the Tequesta couple’s house on Southeast Kokomo Lane in the Jupiter River Estates community.

Last night he was under armed guard at a hospital in Palm Beach where his condition was said to be deteriorating following the struggle to subdue him.

We’ve got another face-eating psychopath in Florida, and this time, two of his three victims didn’t survive.

Deputies also found a woman’s body inside of the garage of the home.

Snyder said he can’t yet answer why deputies didn’t shoot Harrouff but said the angle to do so was extremely risky.

The victims were identified as 59-year-old Joseph Stevens III and 53-year-old Michelle Karen Mishcon. They and their dog would drive around the neighborhood in a golf cart and chat.

A neighbor intervened in the attack, Snyder said, but Harrouff “was abnormally strong”.

Austin Harrouff, who initially gave police a fake name, allegedly stabbed a married couple to death on Monday and was found trying to bite off chunks of the man’s face, Martin County Sheriff William Snyder tells PEOPLE. They were told by the caller that he was trying to break up a fight between his neighbor and another man, but had been stabbed. “He began stabbing and assaulting both the husband and the wife”.

When a neighbor heard screaming, he went outside to help but was stabbed by Moore, deputies said.

The age and identity of the victims and suspect has not been provided.
