Sheriff: Prince’s death showed ‘no sign of trauma’
Today, authorities in Minnesota announced that an autopsy of Prince’s body was performed at 1 p.m. local time, upon which the late singer’s body was handed over to his family. Fans are now waiting to learn how Prince died.

The statement said the “final storage” of Prince’s remains would be private and that a musical celebration would be held at a future date.
Jeremiah Freed, who runs the website drfunkenberry.com and who got to know Prince after writing about him over the years, said he last saw Prince when he made a brief appearance at the party.
In a Friday afternoon press conference, Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson did not say what led to the death of singer Prince, whose body was found yesterday at his home in Minnesota.
Paramedics were called to Prince’s home on Thursday morning with police following shortly after, confirming there had been a fatality at his home. AMC said it will play at 87 of its theaters across the country.
As far as what Prince was wearing (after a reporter asked), Olson said he was wearing a shirt and pants-“He was in clothes”.
He was pronounced dead at 10:07 a.m., less than 30 minutes after sheriff’s deputies responded to a medical call at the scene.
(L-R) Chanhassen Mayor Denny Laufenburger; Martha Weaver, spokesperson for Midwest Medical Examiners office; and Carver County Sheriff Jeff Olsen at the press conference regarding Prince’s death, April 22, 2016.
About three or four agencies and numerous detectives are working on the “unwitnessed death” in what the sheriff described as a “high profile case”.
Rumours have spread that Prince may have died from a possible overdose of prescription drugs.
The star was taking the drug for a hip problem after having corrective surgery around six years ago.
TMZ, citing unidentified sources, reported that Prince received treatment for an overdose of Percocet while traveling home from concerts in Atlanta last week.
Prince performed two 80-minute sets in one night at the Fox Theater in Atlanta on April 14.
Early in the first show, he briefly disappeared from the stage without explanation.
In the later show, Prince coughed a few times, though the show was again energetic. “But I know he had to reschedule due to the flu and then he had some complications after the concert”.
