Sheriff’s Office in California invites 49ers quarterback Kaepernick to police academy

“As we said all along, we recognize his right to express his feelings, but that doesn’t affect what we do from when we get here at 8:15 in the morning and leave at 8 o’clock at night”. I find it rather interesting that the National Football League has no issue disrespecting law enforcement officers but only “encourages” players to respect the symbol of our nation, the American flag, and our anthem, the Star Spangled Banner.

Just minutes after his initial comments on Kaepernick went public -and caused some criticism on social media-Jim Harbaugh apologized on his favorite medium. “But I don’t respect the motivation or the action”.

Harbaugh, who now coaches MI football, later clarified his statement via Twitter: “I apologize for misspeaking my true sentiments”. To clarify, I support Colin’s motivation.

“I think it’s a bad thing, and you know, maybe he should find a country that works better for him”, Mr Trump told KIRO radio in Seattle.

“He’s within his rights and he’s telling the truth as he sees it”, said Brown.

“Voltaire so eloquently stated, ‘I may not agree with what you say, but I’ll defend it until death your right to say it.’ That’s a principle that our country is founded on”.

I mean, you have Hillary [Clinton] who’s called black teens or black kids super-predators.

“I disagree. I wholeheartedly disagree”.

“Colin’s made a very important and a non-volatile statement about the realities of the society in which he lives”, Smith told the Canadian news magazine Maclean’s.

As Saul Alinsky noted back in the ’60s in speaking against those who burned or otherwise disrespected the flag: many of our leaders may betray it, but “the flag itself remains the glorious symbol of America’s hopes and aspirations”.

The 49ers quarterback has been refusing to stand during the national anthem this preseason. The Seattle Times quotes defensive lineman Michael Bennett as saying, “I think it’s a guy standing up for what he believes in”. Meanwhile, Seattle Seahawks Pro Bowl cornerback Richard Sherman understands Kaepernick’s stance, but questions the platform he chose to make it.

“I think there’s a lot of consequences that come along with this”.

“I thought that was pathetic from him”, Isner said after a five-set victory over young compatriot Frances Tiafoe in the first round of the US Open on Monday.
