Sheriff says Prince last seen night before death
Olson said there were no obvious signs of trauma on the singer’s body when he was found alone in an elevator in his Paisley Park compound.

Prince was last seen at 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
Meanwhile, the investigation will continue, Olson said.
Prince’s publicist says the music superstar’s remains have been cremated and a small group of family, friends and musicians have celebrated his life in a private ceremony.
(L-R) Chanhassen Mayor Denny Laufenburger; Martha Weaver, spokesperson for Midwest Medical Examiners office; and Carver County Sheriff Jeff Olsen at the press conference regarding Prince’s death, April 22, 2016.
Officials with the medical examiner’s office say gathering the results of the autopsy will take several days – and a full toxicology scan could take weeks.
Asked whether Prince’s flight made such a landing at the Quad City Airport in Moline, public safety manager Jeff Patterson said Friday that a private Falcon 900 plane made a “medical diversion landing” at 1:17 a.m. that day.
Sheila E. has told the AP that Prince had physical issues from performing, citing hip and knee problems that she said came from years of jumping off risers and stage speakers in heels.
An autopsy was conducted Friday and the body released to his family.
Balloons and flowers also piled up at First Avenue, the downtown Minneapolis nightclub that became a landmark after Prince used it in the 1984 movie “Purple Rain”.
Elsewhere on Broadway, Jennifer Hudson led the cast of The Color Purple in an emotional rendition of Purple Rain.
“It’s kind of weird and I guess sentimental, but I moved to Minnesota when I was 9 and Prince was the first thing I was introduced to”, one fan said while getting a tattoo.
During a Q&A portion of the press conference, Olson dodged questions surrounding reports that Prince’s death is tied to a medication overdose, saying he wouldn’t comment on any medication, if any, that was removed from Paisley Park.
Lars Larson, who worked as security for Paisley Park on and off since 2001, said he thinks Prince cherished small-town life.
Born Prince Rogers Nelson in 1958, he was a prolific writer and performer from a young age – reportedly writing his first song when he was seven.
“He loved it here”, said Cindy Legg, a 41-year-old nurse who went “all the time” to Prince’s club Glam Slam when she was in college.
Because of the nature’s death, the Sheriff’s office is investigating Prince’s death.
Prince’s body will be released to his family later Friday.
Paramedics tried to perform CPR but were unable to revive him, authorities said. Litman says he’d been talking to Prince’s representatives most of that day.

He described Prince as an extraordinary talent scout, on top of his artistry as a musician, who helped to nurture their careers and worked with many Minneapolis musicians.
