“He really loved you all”, said Nelson to the hundreds of grieving mourners while leaving Paisley Park on Thursday, “Thank you for loving him back”.
The Associated Press reports Prince had a reputation for clean living and said he didn’t do drugs.
Prince’s publicist says the music superstar’s remains have been cremated and a small group of family, friends and musicians have celebrated his life in a private ceremony. Olson also emphasized that Prince “had been a longtime member of the community, and really a good neighbor for everyone”.
The autopsy was conducted Friday at the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Ramsey, Minnesota, but it could be weeks before results are complete, spokeswoman Martha Weaver said.
Prince had spoken about struggling with childhood epilepsy, and friends said he had hip trouble.
AMC Theatres said Friday that the movie “Purple Rain” will return for a limited theatrical run.
TMZ reports that Prince overdosed on the powerful painkiller Percocet days before his death, requiring a “save shot” at the airport in Moline, Illinois where his plane made an emergency.
“Because this was an unwitnessed death of a middle-aged adult, the decision was made to process the scene”, Olson said.
The Carver County Sheriff’s Office held a press conference today and divulged new details surrounding the singer’s untimely demise.
Whilst a spokesperson for the Examiners Office added in a statement: “As part of the complete exam, relevant information regarding [Prince’s] medical and family history will be gathered”.
He was last seen at about 8pm Wednesday night, local time, and was found unconscious by some of his staff at about 9.30am the next morning.
Prince fan Ann Sawatzky touches the star of music legend Prince who died suddenly at the age of 57, at the First Avenue club where he started his music career in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on April 23, 2016.
He also ruled out suicide as a cause of death.

Emergency crews who answered the 911 call in Chanhassen, about 20 miles outside Minneapolis, could not revive Prince, the sheriff said. Authorities said it could be days or weeks for the results to be released, as they are running a full panel of tests, which will include toxicology and tissue samples. His body will be released to family.
