Sheriff says suspect had befriended victims

It wasn’t clear if two of the bodies found Sunday morning were discovered in that camper or one owned by Johnson’s parents.

Police said the victims were visiting the area and staying in a trailer that belonged to one of those killed.

A trailer at the campsite contained the bodies of a dead man and woman. One woman from the group had survived the night, but four others were still missing early Sunday.

He said Hudson is not related to the victims.

“Today (Monday) at approximately 1:15 p.m., we pulled four bodies out of a pond behind Hudson’s house”, Sheriff Taylor added. Police say the motive for the killings is unknown.

Hannah Johnson’s boyfriend, Thomas Kamp and his two oldest children were also found murdered, the Journal reported.

Police said the identities of the victims will not be released until autopsies are completed.

Carl and Cynthia Johnson were employees of the University of ME at Farmington and retired to Texas. Indeed, Carina said her ex-husband found out over the weekend that Hudson had cut the lock and reclaimed the property.

Hudson is being held on one count of murder, but more counts could be forthcoming. The sheriff’s office said that additional charges against Hudson are expected. The sheriff said he had been previously arrested for assault.

Anderson County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 800 block of County Road 2217 near the community of Tennessee Colony, northeast of Palestine, on a call about a possible shooting.

WFAA reported that Karp and Hannah Johnson lived with Kade in Midlothian, outside Dallas.
