Sheringham: Blame Van Gaal for Rooney’s Man Utd struggles

Bastian Schweinsteiger believes Louis Van Gaal will bring success to Manchester United.

Sharpe is sympathetic of the situation United manager Louis van Gaal finds himself in, although he would like to see a more adventurous approach similar to days of old.

“I don’t know”, said De Gea to Spanish channel ESPN Deportes. It’s hard to say because at the end of the day I’d have played for Man United no matter what team it is or who’s the manager.

Even though United are fourth on the English Premier League (EPL) table, their style of play have made a section of their fans unhappy. United fans are crying out for Anthony Martial to play the strikers role and for Rooney to play behind him as a creative force, but LVG to date has been reluctant to do this, but I think “needs must” and he will relent soon. “It is up to the manager to work that out”. More prominent use of Pereira, along with the introduction of future stars like Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu Mensah could buy Van Gaal time from the fans to work on improving the rest of the team.

Despite having the tightest defence in the league – just eight conceded – the Reds have netted nine fewer goals than leaders Manchester City over the opening 12 games of the season. “That doesn’t sound like a bad position to be in if you are not firing on all cylinders”. Roy Keane recently on ITV’s Europa League highlights coverage said “if Ashley Young is a United player I’m a Chinaman”.

“You have to be patient, but of course during that, you have to get results and you have to score”.

United return to Premier League action on Saturday November 21 when they face Watford at Vicarage Road.

“We saw a similar breakthrough from Harry Kane at Tottenham in the a year ago”.

Rooney has scored six goals in all competitions so far this season.

“At the club, I remember him being in the U18s and speaking to Brian McClair about him because he was a small one and they stuck with him”, revealed Southgate. It’s not lucky when players come through. A list of top drawer players have LVG to thank for their opportunity to prove their talent including the likes of Robben, Muller, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Edwin Van Der Saar and so on.
