‘Sherlock’ and Watson Go to War in Trailer for Victorian-Era Special
The special finds Sherlock and Watson back in Victorian London where they take on a “seemingly impossible case”. All four primary cast members (Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman, Una Stubbs and Rupert Graves) will appear. But hey, even though there isn’t much plot, there’s plenty of mood and plenty of really excellent shots of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in period outfits.

Screen Crush has noted that the show has been very reluctant about releasing information for its Victorian episode — whether or not it will be a “Christmas Special” is still uncertain.

BBC’s modern Sherlock is returning to its roots in a new TV special.
The BBC is billing this as a “Christmas special”, pinning its United Kingdom broadcast to December.
Co-showrunner Steven Moffat recently said that his decision to change the era of the programme was simply to see the characters in their traditional clothing.
“You’re Sherlock Holmes, for God’s sake” he snaps, “wear the damn hat!”.
The special episode is expected to air around Christmas.

In other “Sherlock” news, Youth Health Magazine reported that the popular detective will definitely not be crossing adventures with another one of Moffat’s shows: “Doctor Who”.
