Shia LaBeouf Slaps Fan in the Face During Elevator Art Stint
Shia LeBeouf whacked an Oxford University student in the face inside an elevator on Friday night, but he didn’t want to do it, and complied only after his victim convinced the actor that getting punched would help him relax.

After falling sleep while attempting to watch all his own movies, manning a call center and roaming around with a paper bag on his head, Shia LaBeouf is literally taking his performance art career to the next level – by spending 24 hours inside an elevator. The #ELEVATE project gave students access to talk to the star and his cohorts about anything they liked. LaBeouf was initially shocked at first, but eventually agreed to punch the man in the first.
LaBeouf initially demurs, but after some joking around, agrees instead to slap the student.
The student told LaBeouf not to be a “p-y”, but the actor continued to balk at the request.
Student: “I’ll take my hat off, you can wear it, and you can punch me in the face”.
“I’ll do it to myself but I don’t like doing it to you, dude”, LaBeouf responded. The student eggs him on: “Do it, yeah!” and then a slap is heard. Oxford University freshman Oscar Plomer-Roberts asked LaBeouf, who immediately disapproved of the idea.

The student thought some of LaBeouf’s hesitancy to hit him might stem from prior media coverage but said the actor was a “great guy” for going along with it. His line about being a fellow performance artist – that was a joke, too.
